7 Medicines I Always Have In My Bug-Out Bag

So you’re preparing your bug-out bag for a worst-case scenario situation, you have your weapons, food, water, and shelter supplies. What’s next?

Well, without including proper medications in your bag you could be putting you and your family in serious danger. We are not Doctor’s and don’t play them on the Internet so please do your own research on top of this.

So without further adieu, here are the 7 medicines I always have in my bug out bag:

7) Ibuprofen-

This one may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people overlook this staple medication. Ibuprofen is an invaluable resource in a survival situation. This versatile pain-reliever can help relieve back pain, headaches, menstrual pain, kidney stones, muscle strains, and many other general pains. It also usually safe for children’s use!

6) Hydrocortisone cream-

This is a medication that many of you would usually bring while on a camping trip. So why wouldn’t this be an essential medication for your bug-out bag? Hydrocortisone cream is a strong steroid cream that can be used to treat a variety of rashes. Diaper rashes, poison ivy, insect bites, and allergic reactions can all be treated with hydrocortisone cream.

5) Loperamide-

Imodium is probably the most popular brand of this anti-diarrheal medication. Diarrhea is our body’s natural defense to flush out a harmful foreign body such as a parasite. However, if the problem persists after several days it can lead to serious dehydration and should be treated with an anti-diarrheal.

4) Benadryl-

You will need an antihistamine, and there is no better than good ole’ Benadryl. Besides treating decongestion, it can also help relieve allergy-related rashes and even help treat psychological issues such as mild anxiety and insomnia! If only for its sheer versatility, Benadryl is an essential item to have in your bug-out bag.

3) Dramamine-

I think we can all agree that nausea and vomiting can be one of the most debilitating side-effects of any illness. So it only makes sense to make sure that you have the proper medication to treat these issues. Dramamine is a great medication that will relieve almost all types of nausea and vomiting. Like Benadryl, it can also help to reduce anxiety.

2) Tylenol-

When mixed with Ibuprofen, Tylenol can serve as a reliever for severe pain. Ibuprofen will help moderate pain, but what if someone in your family severely injures themselves. You need something that can properly treat severe pain, and this combination is a great OTC alternative.

1) Lotrimin-

Lotrimin can be used to treat all kinds of fungal infections. Ringworm, yeast infections, diaper rash, and athlete’s foot. A good anti-fungal medication is an absolute necessity for your bug-out bag.

If you can only bring a few medications, I highly recommend making sure you include these 7 essentials. Be prepared!
