The Art of Raising Off-Grid Kids, And What They Have To Say About It

I guess we all have an impression in our minds about what off-grid kids might be like.  The movie Captain Fantastic does a pretty good job of showcasing one side of it, although it’s very Hollywood based.

But there are so many variables…. the Fouch Family came from a traditional “on grid” life and now has come into their new life of becoming homesteaders.

Now their experience continues to progress as the stories they tell will become more and more from the voice of experience.

Here’s what our kids, ages 7, 5, and 2 have to say about the simple life. Some voiceover from their parents, explaining things, as the kids show off their make-believe Sarlacc and some Olympic-style bed jumping.

  1. I love the idea of disconnecting kids from their screens and letting them enjoy “the simple life”. Nowadays, children are forced to grow up faster and it’s all about being productive. Off the grid is perfect for children who want to enjoy their childhood. They sound relaxed, excited and exhilarated with life! I think it’s important for adults to unplug and connect with nature as well.

  2. Awesome post!! I like the concept of disconnecting youngsters from their screens and rental them get pleasure from “the easy life”. Thanks again for sharing.
