Ever wondered if you live close to a potential nuclear target?Even if you live in a small town or rural area... don't think you are safe. Not all strategic targets are in heavily populated areas. Find out if your county is close to ground zero.
Seriously, have you ever seen something eat a shark? We always see videos of shark attacks and everyone has seen the movie, Jaws.
But this blew my mind.
If you’re an avid fisherman, you know that grouper have to swallow their prey because their mouth edges aren’t loaded with teeth.
This video shows the unbelievable inhaling power of a grouper as it swallows a shark.
Watch the video below to see how this small shark is swallowed in one bite.
Yes, we know the footage is a bit shaky…but wouldn’t you be a little shaky and in shock if you watched this happen?
This rare sight was luckily caught on camera and you can see the grouper make one swift motion to attack the shark while it was still hooked by the fisherman.
The grouper’s mouth and gills create an intense sucking power to bring prey in to eat, even from a distance. Did you know grouper use their mouth to swallow sand in order to form their shelters under big rocks, and then jet it out through their gills?
Something else that is crazy about grouper is that their gill muscles are so powerful that it is nearly impossible to pull them out of their cave if they ever feel attacked. They extend the gills and it locks themselves in.
If you’re out in the ocean fishing, you should always have your camera handy because you never know when a grouper might pop out of no where and steal your catch!
Fishing is easily one of the most fun activities to do in the ocean. It has one major drawback, however: Sitting on a boat in the middle of nowhere can often get quite mundane. After all, what can you do to add a little excitement to your fishing?
This grandpa has an idea on how to make fishing riveting. He uses some old-school methods of striking fear into the hearts of fish everywhere, and it takes his family by total surprise.
Don’t ever doubt grandpa’s quick hands again. Those fishing skills didn’t come to him overnight; he’s probably been fishing like that for decades.
Start taking notes, kids.
In today’s world of advanced technology and multi-national industrial expansion, there is constant and growing concern about ecology and how to grow natural foods in a clean, healthy environment.
One solution is to initiate and oversee the cultivation of aquatic animals and plants grown together in a completely health-promoting structured interior, called aquaponics.
Aquaponics is symbiotic cultivation of aquatic species and plant life within an environment that continuously recirculates.
An aquaponics system combines the two types of aqua-farming—aquaculture (growing fish) and hydroponics (cultivating plants in water).
Fish effluent (waste) accumulates in the system tank’s water supply, making the water rich in plant nutrients but toxic to the tank’s aquatic animals. Within this nutrient enriched water, plants are cultivated and absorb these nutrients.
During the process, the plants lower and sometimes eliminate toxicity levels in the tank water, rendering the water healthy for the fish. This cycle continues, benefiting growth of both plants and aquatic animals.
No water is drained or exchanged, and fresh water is added only when significant amounts of this tank water have evaporated or been absorbed by the plants.
When the fish produce ammonia, a bacteria named Nitrosomonas sp transforms this substance into nitrite.
Subsequently, a second form of bacteria, Nitrobacter, causes conversion of the nitrite into nitrate. Absorbing the nitrate, the plants cleanse the water, creating a purified tank environment once again for the fish.
Aquaponics systems can contain fresh or saltwater, and system sizes can range from compact indoor units to large commercial systems.
Plant and fish types cultivated vary according to water type and system capacity.
While fresh water aquaponics systems depend on plants, aquatic species and nitrifying bacteria for operation, saltwater systems need just the two life forms of saltwater fish and seaweed or algae.
A major reason for using an aquaponics system in your home or as a business venture is to increase your self-sustainability or promote this idea and system to other people.
For this reason, it is sensible to power your aqua-garden with solar energy.
It also makes good sense to operate your ecologically sound, purifying aqua-farm with the natural power of the sun’s energy.
You will save a tremendous amount of money by eliminating your need for costly electrical power supplied by your local utility company.
Once you have installed solar panels for operating your aquaponics system, you will most likely want to convert your entire home energy source from electrical to solar energy power.
Important benefits to be gained from solar power for your aquaponics system include:
There are strong advantages to utilizing solar panels to power the operation of your aquaponics system.
If you have been practicing aquaponics cultivation for a while, you most likely have encountered problems with an electrical power interruption. You may have even had a power outage lasting a day or two, especially during harsh weather conditions.
If so, you probably had to rely on temporary power from a noisy gas-powered generator. By installing solar panels, you can start operating your aquaponics system with the sun’s pure, natural and reliable energy source.
Solar energy is a totally eco-friendly, inexpensive power source.
It is also completely safe.
You will never need to worry about fires or harmful gas fumes in your home when you use solar power.
In addition, generation of solar power produces no annoying sound like the noise from many gas generators. With batteries as a backup for power, you can benefit from energy from your solar panels for many hours at a time.
Although the presence of bright sunlight throughout the year in states like Florida and Arizona is a great benefit for consistent use of solar power, it is not a necessity.
Solar panels can store energy from the direct light on sunny days for use on cloudy or overcast days and, of course, during night hours.
The first major item you will need for installing your solar-powered home aquaponics system is a pump with low amperage.
With an efficient, dependable pump, you can have steady power for your aqua-farm with fewer solar panels.
A pump drawing just 24 watts of power can support water elevation up to nine feet. It is best to install your solar panel or panels in close proximity to your aquaponics setup.
You may want to mount solar panels on the roof of your home or on a high pole support.
Your panels should face south if you live in the northern hemisphere and north if you are located in the southern hemisphere.
Taking into consideration the voltage of your solar panels and voltage needed for your pump, it may be necessary to wire a pair of panels placed together to achieve correct potential difference.
You should obtain a pump controller that will regulate the power flow from the solar panels to the pump.
This controller should also include a battery for storage of extra energy from the panels to be used during night hours or on cloudy and overcast days.
The solar panels and the pump should be properly wired to form a complete and secure control circuit for operation of your aquaponics system.
You can charge your solar-powered aquaponics system using just a few essential elements for generating power.
A typical solar energy charging kit for a home aquaponics system includes four 15-watt solar panels with sturdy mounting frames and a 200-watt modified sine wave inverter device along with a 7-amp charge controller for solar power.
An installation wiring kit and accessories will also be provided. Nighttime battery discharge will be prevented by the diode blocking technology that is built-in.
This convenient kit has other handy capabilities as well.
It can be used to sustain a 12-volt battery charge. It can also be used as a charging source for electric-powered vehicles, equipment, boats, computers and other items.
With a 250-watt charging kit, you can gain more power, and with use of an expansion kit, you will have power increases of 310, 375 or more wattage.
Once your new aquaponics system is in place and powered with solar energy, you are ready to start populating this ecologically sound environment with aquatic animals and plant life.
You will soon be reaping the benefits of this pure, simultaneous cultivation of fish and plants.
This biologically balanced system will operate in continuous harmony. Now that your cultivation system is up and running, your role in the growing process is to maintain water levels, feeding and harvesting the fish appropriately so the tank is never overcrowded.
You, your family and friends can now enjoy the benefits of a completely safe, ecologically balanced source of sustainable food supply.

Becoming more knowledgeable about preppers and their lifestyle will reveal how beneficial they are to society as a whole.
They focus on an individual lifestyle and fight for everyone’s freedom. Freedom to preppers includes freedom from government dependence, so they keep resources available to them to ensure they can be self-sustainable.
This way of life was normal, and even necessary for survival, only a few generations ago, yet modern thinking has shunned the entire notion of it.
A true prepper is an independent, free-thinking, innovative individual who devotes a good amount of time to stocking resources and acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to be self-sustainable.
They conserve resources and wealth in contrast to most modern people today.
Most importantly, they highlight valid arguments against the seemingly invincible modern way of life.
They have built an entire lifestyle revolving around having a stock of all necessary resources. If you are in need of some necessary or basic resource, then it is very likely your prepper friend already has the item.
Even in times of non-emergency having resources handy can be extremely helpful. For example, if a low-key storm happens to knock your power out then a prepper will likely have a generator or some strategy for continuing on with the day.
If you need a particular ingredient for dinner, there will be no trip to the store for that one item. Instead, it is probably already in your prepper’s stock room.
Preppers value a wide range of skills from planting gardens to building houses.
A good prepper has a strong knowledge base encompassing various skills that are useful in everyday life. From preparing meals from scratch to knowing the best fishing spots, the information a prepper acquires will prove to be helpful in the most unexpected ways.
Preppers are great partners because they are experts at cutting costs and reducing waste. Prepping strategy involves buying in bulk which will save money and leave you with plenty of spare resources.
Learning valuable skills, such as growing your own food or general car maintenance will also help reduce costs. By cutting wasteful spending and focusing on the future, you will have more money to save, invest, and prepare.
The prepping that is done to protect from an apocalypse situation can also be just the thing that helps you pull through losing your job, the death of a loved one, or unexpected major medical expenses.
These situations are extremely common and you should most certainly expect to deal with at least one of these challenges during your lifetime.
Despite how likely we are to experience these events, most people fail to prepare for these events and have extreme difficulty recovering financially. Having plans and resources available will help you through.
Most techniques that preppers use were actually historically necessary to survive not too long ago.
For example, in your grandmother’s early adulthood, she probably canned food for the winter, had guns in the house for protection, and may have even had a garden to help provide food.
Only a few generations ago people were much more independent and realistic about their needs. Back then it was not considered prepping, but living. Without planning for the future, you were doomed to fail.
The Democratic Party usually argues for social freedoms, whereas Republicans promote economic freedom. Survivalists and preppers fight for all around freedom.
This group has been ostracized by the media and government and labeled as outcasts, doom-seekers, and even domestic terrorists. They strive for less government dependence and have viewpoints more in line with our founding fathers versus the modern socialistic trend.
Obviously a preppers main goal is to prepare themselves for survival in the event of some catastrophe.
They make plans, store up stock, gather resources, and ensure their safety during any kind of natural disaster, economic collapse, or even total societal meltdown. Though it is much wiser to prepare for yourself, if some emergency does happen then you will know right where to turn.
Even if you yourself don’t have an emergency kit or supplies, having survivalists in your community greatly increases your chances of survival in a disaster situation.
The more preppers you have in your community the more likely your area can survive any disaster or economic collapse. Together a group of preppers provide the area with a variety of imperative survival skills, stocked resources for immediate needs, and of course the ingenuity needed to rebuild.
A skilled prepper has all of the necessary resources he needs to survive on his own, independent of any external situation. They have learned to become problem-solvers, innovative, and most importantly, self-reliant.
They generally live their lives without the desire or need to be told what to do, and love the individualism within others as well. They tend to favor freedom, socially and economically, and are rarely swayed by twisted politics.
Preppers and survivalists alike have the knowledge of what it really takes to survive in a completely different world.
Today’s modern human does not take into consideration how convenient and easy meeting our basic needs has become. Preppers, on the other hand, tend to appreciate resources, hard work, and luxury much more than the average person.
They generally shy away from the excessive consumption and waste culture we have created today. A person with a greater appreciation for everything in life is generally a happier person.
Preppers have been portrayed by the main media and government as loners and crazy doomsday-seekers, but they couldn’t be further from the truth.
There are numerous advantages that preppers provide to not only their community but also to the nation as a whole for fighting for our freedoms and independent lifestyles. There are countless ways you will fall in love with a prepper, these ten just top the list!
When you head out fishing, you need to be prepared for any eventuality, and that means having a tackle box full of supplies.
Sure, you head out head to catch some bass, but a nearby fisherman tells you of a fantastic spot to go for trout. Do you have the right supplies?
Sometimes a line breaks because it’s old, other times because you’ve landed a monster of a fish and you need something stronger. No matter the reason, it’s important that you pack extra line in your tackle box to ensure that no matter the conditions, you’re prepared.
Girls have bobby pins, you have fish hooks. Make sure you bring plenty of extras, and as much variety as you can. You’ll lose fish hooks to hungry swimmers, to hidden branches on the bottom of the water, or just to plain bad luck. Don’t let it ruin your trip; attach another hook and cast again.
Sometimes it can be hard to tell when you’ve hooked a fish. By attaching a floater, or a bobber, to your line, it becomes much easier. These brightly colored tools float on the surface of the water, attached a few inches up the line from the hook. When the fish bites the hook, the floater will sink below the surface, signaling to you that it’s time to start reeling it in.
That worm hanging on the end of your hook probably won’t register on a scale, and it’s certainly not going to sink very deep. You’ll need a sinker for that – but they come off almost as easily as hooks do. Make sure you’ve got a few spare ones.
Make sure you have at least basic medical supplies. Accidents happen no matter how careful you might be, and you have to make sure you are able to disinfect and bandage an injury until you can get to proper medical care. Your kit should include bandages, gauze, band aids, and disinfectant at the very least.
Ignore those who say sunscreen isn’t manly. It’s important to protect your skin; any real man knows that. Make sure you’ve got at least SPF-40 sunscreen to help block harmful UV rays and protect your skin against damage which may cause cancer.
You never know when you might need a flashlight, whether that is to get a better look at an injury or to repair your boat’s motor. If you’re a fan of night fishing, a small LED light goes a long way.
This is needed for more than the first aid kit. Fish aren’t exactly the cleanest of creatures, and after you’ve made your catch and gutted them, you’ll need to clean your hands. If a friend gets injured and you have to tend to them, you’ll want to make sure your hands are clean. A small bottle of hand sanitizer costs nothing and goes a long way.
Pliers go a long way. From making repairs to small equipment, bending hooks, or removing the hooks from the fish, a miniature pair of pliers should always be in your tackle box. You might even need it to remove a hook from you.
Fishing line sometimes gets snagged and has to be cut, but because of the strength of certain fishing lines, pocket knives sometimes pose a danger. It’s better to buy a specialized pair of line cutters in order to ensure your safety, but if all else fails, an old pair of nail clippers should work.
